"Dear friends, Thank you for
your interest in the art and music of the native American flute.
Although I am not a tribal member, I have lived and worked on
reservations for the past eighteen years and am now a permanent
resident here on the Flathead Reservation. Of Celtic heritage, I
consider myself a native American. Born in 1951 on the plains of
southern Saskatchewan, I am neither a European nor anything other than
a native of this land. I feel that after being here now for 500 years
the time is long passed for the dominant culture to abandon
destructive values of a perceived immigrant society and learn from the
ancient inhabitants of this land ways of harmony with the Earth and
with each other. My work with the flute speaks of this commitment."
